October 31, 2017
Novopskosv community was created in 2015—it was the first one down the decentalisation path. More than 12 thousand locals united in this community and held election. Before this change, local budget amounted to 7 million hryvnias and gave little perspectives. After the creation of the community the budget grew by almost 300%. Now the locals choose themselves what to spend it for. Local community enabled an effective team of managers. Only one institution is now being financed from the budget instead of several village councils and dozens of civil servants. See more in our grassroots story video!
